“First Nations Dialogues”: Kin

Emily Johnson curates this new series of indigenous-led performances, conversations, and workshops at various downtown venues. Two performance-art pieces come from Australia. Joshua Pether, of Kalkadoon heritage, brings “Jupiter Orbiting,” a part surrealist, part sci-fi solo that dramatizes the dissociation that can follow trauma. S. J. Norman, who is Koori, performs “Cicatrix 1 (that which is taken/that which remains),” a ritual of mourning.
